Play at WEA

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

The play space on the main floor is the stuff dreams are made of, even if you’re not a child. As a parent, it must be an amazing amenity to simply take the elevator to a safe and fun area where the kids can burn off some energy. Children will enjoy pretending to drive around in the child sized replica of a fire truck, complete with a dress up uniform. There is even a super cute city bus reminiscent of those found at the MTA Transit Museum to explore.

Parents and caregivers, you can take a deep breath and let those little ones frolic while you recharge for the next round of diapers and juice boxes.

Lobby in Progress!

Tuesday, August 21st, 2007

This morning, three lighting fixtures were installed in the main lobby. In keeping with a sleek modern design scheme the fixtures are white linen triple-tiered drum shades. What they may lack in color, the fixtures more than make up for in sheer size. They are huge and quite chic.

I can’t wait to see what the art will be! Part of me hopes that the pieces were chosen with simplicity and sophistication in mind. The other part of me hopes that a bold and colorful statement will be made.
